Responsible Parking

Responsible Parking

Dear all,

The Parish Council are very well aware of the parking difficulties in the village requiring some residents needing to park partly on the pavement.

This is not in line with the provisions of the various Road Traffic Acts, which all state that footways must be kept clear, but the Parish Council recognise the difficulties in a village environment and have taken the view in the past that this is okay so long as sufficient room is left to allow pedestrians and mobility scooters to pass safely past the parked vehicle(s) without having to go into the road.

We have unfortunately received an increasing number of complaints from pedestrians reporting problems. May we therefore politely remind you to park with care and leave sufficient space for those using the footways to pass safely so that we may maintain our policy.

Thank you for your consideration.
